Gumball machines always remind me of the quarter machines that once lined the front end of stores - a childhood lottery, where I could drop in a quarter, and hope to receive the candy or trinket of my dreams. I love the memory of simple pleasures and simple worries. Creating this painting reminded me to take a step back to a time where I could turn my troubles into bubbles.
